Non Scholae Sed Vitae '(We must learn for life and not for school) principles by road to the Istanbul Bilgi University, 07 June 1996 Information Education and conducted by the Cultural Foundation application and Turkey Grand National Assembly adopted in 4142 numbered law, a Foundation University took its place in the Turkish University System as an institution with a public legal personality.

Istanbul Bilgi University in Kuştepe taken to the site in various process since its creation (32,000 m2), Dolapdere (21,000 m2), central Istanbul (148,000 m2 with an additional building) and Kozyatağı (4,300 m2), including 4 students in a total of approximately 206,000 m2 area on campus and in Turkey contributes to academic life.

22 years introduced many firsts in Turkey, Istanbul Bilgi University, to improve teaching and research quality in 2006 and in Turkey with the goal of becoming a university that can compete with the world, one of the world's largest international education network Laureate went to long-term cooperation with the Education and this network became a part of it.

With more than 20,000 students, more than 35,000 graduates, approximately 1,000 academic staff, 7 faculties, 3 institutes, 4 colleges, and 3 vocational schools, it continues its education with more than 150 programs that teach undergraduate, graduate, and associate degrees.
