Afyonkarahisar University of Health Sciences

Education and training activities started on 10 November 1992 at Afyon Kocatepe University, which was established with the law number 3837 on July 3, 1992, together with twenty-one new universities. However, the history of the university dates back to 1974, when the Afyonkarahisar Finance Accounting School, which was established in connection with the Eskisehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences at that time, was opened. Afyonkarahisar Finance Accounting School was converted into Afyonkarahisar Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, affiliated with Anadolu University in 1987. This faculty was affiliated to our university during its establishment.

It was connected to our university during the establishment of Usak Vocational School of Ege University, Afyonkarahisar Vocational School of Anadolu University and Bolvadin Vocational School. In addition, Afyonkarahisar Atatürk Health Services Vocational School was opened in Afyonkarahisar city center in 1992. Apart from these units connected to our university, the Faculty of Science and Letters, the Faculty of Technical Education and the Institute of Social Sciences and the Institute of Sciences were established.

Before the 1993-1994 academic year began, a vocational school was opened in Dinar, Emirdag, Sandikli, Suhut districts of Afyonkarahisar with the permission of the Council of Higher Education. In 1994-1995 academic year, vocational school was established in Afyonkarahisar's Çay and Iscehisar districts. Sultandagi Vocational School was opened in the academic year of 1995-1996. In 1996-1997 academic year, Afyonkarahisar School of Health, as well as the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, was opened in Afyonkarahisar. In 1998, Faculty of Medicine was opened in Afyonkarahisar. State Conservatory was established in Afyonkarahisar in 1999 and School of Foreign Languages ​​was established in 2004.

The law on the establishment of new faculties, institutes and colleges affiliated with Afyon Kocatepe University was published in the Official Gazette No. 24289 dated 16 January 2001 and entered into force. With this law, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Fine Arts, School of Physical Education and Sports and Institute of Health Sciences were opened in Afyonkarahisar. The School of Foreign Languages ​​was established in 2004 with the approval of the Council of Ministers upon the request of our university. The decision of the Council of Ministers was published in the Official Gazette No. 25448 dated 30 April 2004.

The proposal for the opening of the Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Preparatory Class in the Formal Education Programs of Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences since 2005-2006 has been examined at the General Assembly meeting of 14/01/2005 and 2547. In accordance with the article 7 / d-2 and 7 / h of the Law No. 2880, the proposal was deemed appropriate in accordance with the 7th article of the Regulation on Foreign Language Education-Teaching and Teaching in Foreign Language Education and Training in Higher Education Institutions.

Establishment of Afyon Kocatepe University Tourism Management and Hotel Management School was decided by the Council of Ministers on 11/11/2005 according to the article 30 of 28/3/1983 and number 2809 of the Law numbered 28022, on the letter dated 8/11/2005 and numbered 25022. . Afyon Kocatepe University School of Tourism and Hotel Management was established after the decision numbered 2005/9635, published in the Official Gazette No. 26017 dated December 8, 2005.

4 faculties, 1 college and 6 vocational schools of Afyon Kocatepe University were transferred to Usak University, which was established in accordance with Law No. 5467, published in the Official Gazette dated March 17, 2006, and left Afyon Kocatepe University.
